I do not quite understand where the redirected sperm goes when the valve is engaged. By the looks of the diagram it appears to stay stagnant, which is obviously necessary to prevent conception. Is this safe? Are there physiological processes that the body is capable of that would deal with this stagnant sperm? Or is there a mechanism that would dispose of the sperm while still acting as an effective contraceptive?
