Is there any risk in doing it too early? Is there any possibility of complications from growing? Should patients wait until after puberty is finished or could the switches be safely implanted before then?
Thanks for the interesting question. We are not aware of any studies that look at the growth of the vas deferens from childhood to adulthood. Therefore, we assume that the valves should be implanted only after sexual maturity has been completed.
