Clinical Tester Costs?

To whom it may concern,

I live in the USA, and was wondering if I became a clinical test subject, would I have to pay for the cost of the procedure and the cost of the implant? I don’t mind paying the travel costs to visit Germany to receive the implant, but I currently could not afford the actual procedure (as outlined in your FAQ, it costs 5,000 EUR or about $5657.50 USD).

If I may add a separate question, I was reading where you had stated you must wait at least 3 to 6 months after the procedure (and preferably also be tested) before you can be considered fully protected by this device from pregnancy. Is it safe to presume then, that whenever you engage in a sexual act (whether that be sex, or just rubbing one off), you must close the switches, otherwise that 3 to 6 month waiting period resets?

Hi. There are no costs for the participants of the clinical trial at all. Of course we will prioritize the participants in relation to the effort of the costs for us.

Yes, when the switch is open and you close it, you have to wait 3-6 months before you can be sure, that you are sterile. So the most realistic scenario of using the Bimek SLV seems to be, that the switch is closed most of the time and you only open it in case you want to father a child. After opening the switch you will be fertile in 1-3 days again. So using the switch is really much more a responsible handling of your birth control than a possibility to change your fertility spontaneously.
